When I look up to the skies
I see your eyes a funny kind of yellow
I rush home to bed I soak my head
I see your face underneath my pillow
I wake next morning, tired, still yawning
See your face come peeping through my window

Oohhh, good one, I hadn't heard this in a long time. I don't remeber who did it, but the title is "Matchstick men" isn't it?

You got it. By the Status Quo. From my days in grade school in England in the 60's.

Another terrific group, this is a more recent song of theirs.........

Once upon a time
Once when you were mine
I remember skies
Reflected in your eyes
I wonder where you are
I wonder if you
Think about me
Once upon a time

More from the Chix genre...

I've been looking for a driver who's qualified
So if you think that you're the one step into my ride
I'm a fine-tuned supersonic speed machine
With a sunroof top and a gangster lean

Time for a clue...

She's a Good Girl Gone Bad and had another hit this year that created a horrible earworm (ella, ella, ella...). :)

one of my fave songs of all time - extra bonus points if you can come up with all the various people that have covered it...

"Come up on different streets
they both were streets of shame
Both dirty both mean yes
and the dream was just the same.."

I can't officially play because I had to look it up. But, I will say that The Killers released a version on the Sawdust cd, and I really dig it. I have always liked the original version as well.

Is this another earworm thang?

Posted: Mon Dec 17, 2007 7:29 pm

no - it's from Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits. Came out in 1980 on Making Movies.

I love dire Straits, but I just have brain fade where this one's concerned.

OK, just to get things moving again, this one is from one of the few 60's super groups that's still touring!

A wonderful day
for passing my way.
Knock on my door
and even the score
With your eyes.
