What things need to be regularly maintained and so on on a 2006 Mini Cooper S? Mine has 44,200 miles on it currently. Next oil change is set at 49,000 on my car.

Might I suggest that you use the infamous search function on NAM and on *gasp* Google...
Rookie mistake......

Somehow I had a feeling that would be the first response, lol. I'll check.

Doesn't the owner's manual have a maintenance schedule? I'm not for sure but I think most of them do.

I think the lower control arm bushings start to go around that mileage. Also check all the motor mounts for oozing or cracking.
I'm sure there is tons more but those are the first that come to mind.

Even easier - look at your owners manual!

If you have records then you can kinda see what's needed based on what's been done. If not, then you should probably just plan for the usuals - oil and filter, air filter, change the brake fluid, have a look at your pads and rotors, check and/or change your coolant and power steering fluid and so on. These cars are not maintenance intensive. I think the book calls for plugs at 60K......

I think it's a good idea to start planning for these things as they do need to be done at some point, but I'll bet you're good for now till 60K.

Edit: Clint, you beat me to it!

A couple other "famous" needs on these cars are the thermostat gasket and housing tend to leak, the new style factory gasket takes care of it. Definitely look at the right side motor mount, and the o-ring for the crank sensor leaks oil eventually, again - the new factory part fixes it. But I don't consider those as maintenance as much as regular repairs. Also check your serpentine belt and tensioner, likewise we've seen some failures of the crank pulley, but usually in older cars with more miles.

Engine mounts have been replaced. bushings will be taken care of this summer. Tom is gonna help me replace em. The clutch was completely replaced at some point. Serpentine belt and tensioner were replaced at some point within the last 10,000 miles as well I believe. I have seen some of the records on the car so it looks like it was relatively routine except for a few other little things that were taken care of at the dealer.

That was done before I bought the car when it was traded into the Volvo dealership we bought it from.

An easy one -- replace the cabin filter :)

Excellent! One less thing to accomplish right now, and another thing to add to your tracking list of things to do in the future. That 24 months seems to pass quickly!
