I thought people made jokes about Mini's being clown cars before...Why is BMW making it more so?

It's worse from the back.

Well it'll be interesting to see. But if they look like this, my next Mini will be an R56 JCW.

Not my favorite looking MINI but I'm glad they are starting to make some changes. I think it is healthy for the car. As long as the basic styling elements don't completely change like the 911 I'll be happy. I think MINI really has to start playing with the design a bit more because what is the incentive to buy a new one when you can buy one that 6 years old and looks nearly the same? I understand there are small upgrades to the MINI each year but other cars get a complete redesign every 5 or so years. I'm willing to bet it will grow on you. As long as it's faster and just as nimble I'll be happy. :D

Change can be good and sometimes necessary, but on the other hand when you have something that works don't change it. Take the Mustang for instance. Somewhere around the 80's they made huge mistake and turned it into a wedge slice and it kept evolving that way. It wasn't until this last change when they went back to their early roots did it make a come back. Now they messing with the rear end again and I think they are losing something.
