Anyone installed a DDMworks cold air intake from WayMotorWorks? Comments? Suggestions?

I have the r56s one on my 2010. Fitment is ok. I would prefer a different filter if I re-did it. Sounds of the diverter valve always make me smile.

In august, my intake temps stayed consistently low. Peaks were about 30°F lower than stock in back to back testing. Cooler temps may not matter as much.

Butt dyno says the power band is shifted up a little. Lower end seems less spunky bit it pills better at 4k+.

I'm going to try and make the shop day on the 16th if you'd like to see it. I'm also considering selling it just to try something different.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I work the weekend of garage day.

I installed (with a friend) a Alta CAI in my car. I could probably help you with the intake some time if you would like. I'm somewhat mechanically inclined and can follow directions.

I had it on my R56. Super easy to install and you can actually hear the blow-off noise. You won't be disappointed.

r56 is different from r53. It's the old supercharged Tritec versus the turbocharged Prince engine. The hiss from the r53 is the belt while the r56 is a bov.

Good catch, I immediately thought it was an R56.

I feel bad for your supercharge drivers. You call whines!!! LOL

I bought mine used to try it out. For the R56, the oiled filter does bother me a bit for longevity of the MAF as the filter is bolted onto the MAF. The noise is spectacular! I will miss that. I will tap the throttle just to hear the noise. Im taking mine off tonight as I sold it to a guy in Texas for what I paid. Going to try something else. Maybe a dry panel filter in the stock box.

Way Motor now offers a Pre oiled UNI filter or a K&N filter with their CAI. So you recommend the K&N? Anyone else have an opinion?

I have an Clubman Justa and I installed the DDM intake on it. It is definitely a lot louder and people will turn around when they hear it. Some are not a fan of the sound but I love it. I also gained roughly 2-3 mph on the highway with it.

Zack, can you elaborate on why you prefer the alta?

First one I bought and I liked it. It wasn't super difficult to install and had a very clean look , especially with the airbox cover I bought extra. Well worth it. Works really well too. And yes it makes that nice whooshing sound.
