Is anyone planning on going this year? We are thinking about doing the Dallas to St. Louis legs. We've never done it before, are there any tips from those of you who've participaed in previous years?

I'm thinking of Memphis to Chicago. Not necessary to stay at "event" hotels. Just be sure to be at morning starting point early. Usually provided breakfast or a fundraising meal.

Yes, hoping on coast-to-coast. Been scrimping and saving vacation time for work and saving my pennies! Looks like it might work out.

Registered this morning for the Dallas to St. Louis route. Now on to booking rooms. I am going to try and find more economical rooms than they suggest. I can't see paying some of those prices just for a place to rest our heads for a night.

Those of you that have done this before, what type of clothes do you pack? Are there any owner events that require more dressy attire? The owner event in Dallas is at Gilley's so I assume western wear is in order Memphis owner event is still TBD so have no idea about that one and the St. Louis event is at the dealership so I assume that is casual. Since everyone is living out of their cars I can't see fancy events, but I could be wrong. It's been known to happen.

I may crash the Dallas to St. Louis portion of the leg. I won't know until July or so . It could be fun!!

MINI shirts and shorts. One year the bar/club at the hotel MINI recommended in Chicago required fancier attire, but they let us in since we were staying at the hotel. (It wasn't the owner event, just the bar at the host hotel.) Cypress Hill showed up later and they weren't wearing fancy duds either.

You did. I must not have been paying attention when I was looking. In that case it doesn't sound like we need fancy duds at all. Since we aren't going to Chicago where the evening event is at some sort of "club" I am going to be comfy.

Thanks Johnna. Seth, it will be good to know someone else making the same trip as us. We plan on heading down on the 1st. We'll have the day on the 2nd in Dallas before the event in the evening. We've been to Dallas before, so we'll have to think of some new sights to see this time.

I was talking to Judy and mentioned the fact that you guys are doing that part of the route, and that Seth might be going, too. Judy initially had no plans to do any of MTTS, but she said she might be willing to be part of this little caravan for Dallas-Memphis-St Louis.

Yep, everyone is in MINI gear the whole time. T-shirts and shorts are pretty standard.

Looks like i need to bump up my MINI gear before August!

A mini MINI caravan to Dallas would be fun!

MINI actually offered laundry service last time! Give 'em your laundry in Chicago, pick it up in Lincoln.
