Thermostat Housing

Post by Sspreso »

Seems that my 2012 Coupe has been struck by the plastic gremlins. First the rear hatch won't close and it's was due to a broken plastic safety latch.
Now I have the infamous coolant leak of the thermostat housing warping. Why modern car makes feel plastic is the solution for everything...

That is quite terrible. The thermo housing is the next thing to go on my 08.

While technically my car has a warranty, the question of it being valid comes up for some reason...

Did you talk to Isaac?

I'm not sure what you've done would invalidate the work on the thermostat....might be worth a phone call or to drop by and ask.

Turns out it wasn't the thermostat housing, but instead the coolant gasket on the oil filter housing. Such a common issue that the gasket is on backorder. Luckily Chris at Baron was able to hook me up and no more leaks.

I just fixed that leak yesterday. Took quite a bit to get everything off but no more leaks!

I had mine replaced on my 2009 at Baron, it was around $530 or so. Now I am having to replace the o-ring on the high pressure fuel pump. :x
