Anyone know how to install the roof rack for an R56/R55 Mini that would be willing to help me? Bought one cheap off Samer at Baron this evening.

They are kind of a pita. You have to cut some of the rubber seal in four spots. Did he sell you the torque key with the rack too?

Nope. It didn't come with the kit I got. I carry a socket wrench around in the car and just tightened the nuts until snug. Scraped some of the rubber on the rain gutter during install but it looks good.

I will try to remember my torque key on the next meet up. If you are wanting to haul bicycles, Rocky Mounts out of Colorado make European rails that fit on the MINI load bars.

Zack, I want to see how your installation would look like. It's not for my mini but I ordered a Jeep Roof Rack and am currently waiting for its shipment. This will be my first time installing it so I'm kind of feeling uneasy with my skill.

It's currently not mounted on the car but the installation was very straight forward and rather easy to install.

That's reassuring. I just have to ask someone to help me out with the installation and it's good to go. Thanks, Zack!

I'm available to help with that stuff.

For my car, it came factory installed, like most minis, with these mounting points in the drop rail. My biggest fear was scratching the paint with the mounting brackets. Haven't done it yet. Lol.
