Re: A video of my car posted on youtube by its previous owne
I hit a possum with my first mini and it cause right around $3500 damage. bumper was perfectly fine but the condenser and radiator were pushed back and had to be replaced. I bet he went over an animal and thought it didn't do any damage.

Re: milky oil, coolant and oil disappearing
I will probably just do a head gasket and call it good. Engine rebuild kit is around $2100 not including the head. Or a used engine on eBay is around $2500. I doubt the car is worth that so I'm not going to dump to much into it.

Re: milky oil, coolant and oil disappearing
I'm not getting any coolant on the garage floor, just oil. I will have to check on cost of parts and see how deep I can go. I have had a rebuild on my mind for awhile so it would be nice but with a baby on the way it might have to wait awhile. Does the engine have to come out of the car to do all th...

milky oil, coolant and oil disappearing
I checked my oil tonight and it was about a quart low which has been the norm so I'm not too worried about that. What worries me is the disappearing coolant and milky whiteish deposits all over the dipstick and filler cap. What causes this and what will I be replacing at the next garage day?

Thanks for putting me down for the brakes! I ordered them today and should be here in time. I'm also due for an oil change and a tire rotation if time permits.

Re: Club Website--INPUT NEEDED PLEASE
I think a very simple website would be perfect, just a slight upgrade from what we have now. A gallery would be nice for showcasing events but keep other photos to the forums. Something I have wanted for a long time is the ability to get notifications when a new topic is posted in a user specified s...

That was a great turn out, better than some official events even. I liked that all the minis were parked together but everything else was scattered around. I think we need to do this again.

I had the opposite problem, mine wouldn't stay closed. While searching for a solution I found solutions to your problem. Seems a few people had success fishing a hanger into the glovebox and pulling the latch open. Have you tried that?

Re: Power Steering Warranty Extension
MINIDave refurbished mine about 50k miles ago, I think even then I would have been out of the extended p/s pump warranty. Just this week it has started to get weak, I suppose I'm still hosed on this one. I see a new pump in my future.

I have Kumho Ecsta 4X. Like Dave said I will be lucky to get 20k miles, but then again i haven't had any tire last longer than that. They do have amazing grip in all conditions though and they are cheap. I think $94 per tire on tire rack. I just bought my second set actually.

I will be going to Worlds of Fun that day. I may have to actually let Baron handle my problem this time. Its getting too hot to wait. I'm getting a fault code on my Auto climate control for blend flap servomotor fault. A/C works but mixes with Hot air. Have fun everyone!

Re: April Shop Day - April 20th 9am
I plan on being there at least until lunch. Im due for an oil change. Has anyone ever repaired a disconnected passenger door cable? The door opens from the outside, but not the inside. Is it do-able? What parts should I request from Baron? Mahalo This happened to my passenger door last year as well....

Re: Rough Idle Noise from Engine
Mine had the same symptoms, it wasn't as severe when it warned up. You can look at the tensioner absorber at idle and it shouldnt be moving much. Kinda hard to explain but it might be obvious once you look at it. As for the loud pop I wouldn't worry about unless you hear it again or something doesn'...

It wouldn't have anything to do with the tensioner stop, its the black shock absorber on the tensioner.

Re: Rough Idle Noise from Engine
When my mini sounded like a diesel it turned out to be a bad belt tensioner, I'm not saying punk mini is wrong but you might look at your tensioner and see if the little s shock absorber is doing is job.

If it's anything like the R53's then it's not bad at all . I replaced every speaker in mine, you might end up breaking a few clips in the process but I think they're really cheap.

After pricing Batteries around town at auto parts stores I went to Standard Battery today. I was in and out in about 20 min. I will install it myself next time but overall I am happy w/ the service. Mine is still going strong, I have also had an aftermarket stereo hooked up to it so it sees more st...
