Well after that small patch of clear coat failed on the passenger side door I have decided to cover the lower body sides with these new John Cooper stripes I bought. The question I have is what is the best way to install these so that they look good and I don't mess it up.
Note: the stripe hides the damaged clear coat nicely.

Re: Body side stripes
If you have one of those projecting laser levels that might make life easier. It would put a beam across the door so you could see where the stripe will lay. Of course if the car doesn't sit level your stripes will the crooked. I would offer you mine if I had one, but sadly I don't. Mine is the suction cup type that has to be manually leveled and the bubble is not to be trusted on something like this. A free standing self leveling one would be your best bet if you know somebody that has one.
