Re: The end of Moss Mini
I just remember reading something about them closing shop. I couldn't find any reasons for it.

I thought they were still doing classic Mini stuff. They also have a Mazda/Miata side.

They weren't making enough money?
Has anyone here, or anyone you know bought anything from them?

I bought quite a bit from them. A lot of times they had better deals than MiniMania and OutMotoring.Minidave wrote:They weren't making enough money?

Re: The end of Moss Mini
I am not a fan of MiniMania at all. For the classic Mini, they seem to have the highest prices of anyone out there. I have never checked on their new MINI pricing. I found the folks at Outmotoring to be extremely helpful when searching for parts.Zackattack28 wrote:I bought quite a bit from them. Way is a good dude as well. He will take the time to talk with you on the phone and not make you feel like an idiot for silly questions.Zackattack28 wrote: WayMotorWorks is also really good too.

Re: The end of Moss Mini
I have been happy with Way. They promptly call back or email to answer any questions.
Outmotoring...not so much.
I've placed 3 orders and had 3 issues (including shipping my order to someone else! ). I do have 3 free outmotoring TShirts now though
Also have not had much luck with Detroit Tuned.
Amazon works well, but I would like to support MINI shops if I can.

Re: The end of Moss Mini
Back in the day (almost 10 years ago), I bought several cool things from Moss MINI. The coolest was an oil filter adapter to allow the use of a "normal" spin-on K&N oil filter. Never saw this available anywhere else. This part has not been available from Moss for several years, however.

Re: The end of Moss Mini
I used to purchase a lot of little tidbits from Moss. But once the new wore off of MINI being in the U.S., they seemed to stop adding fun little tidbits to their offerings. So it was a one-and-done project for me.
Way will have my business always. When he could have made $ from me at MITM, he handed me the tool to fix the problem myself. No charge. He's just a good guy. And I've always had great luck with OutMotoring plus they've been generous to our club in the past. As for Detroit Tuned, well, while adding a part to my car, he scratched it with an Ez-Up tent that was not anchored then refused to pay what the body shop wanted to repair my custom paint job. Said his paint shop could do it for less but never came through on that. He gladly took my $ for the work he did though. That was years ago and it still doesn't sit right with me. I grew up in an automotive shop and my dad would have had my hide if I damaged someone's car.
(Now I feel icky, saying unkind-but-true things. I'm off to pay for someone's coffee at the drive-thru now...)
