Re: Modifications for R55 - N16 engine

Hmmmm. I forgot about how many wheel sets I went through with the R53. Lol. As for brakes I don't think they're the same as the S because I can stick 15" wheels on this clubman easily. Couldn't do that on my old R53 with the R56 brake discs. Improving the braking though may help and it isn't s...

Re: Modifications for R55 - N16 engine

Well, to answer his question, there really isn't any thing you can do to get substantial power increases in a non-S that doesn't involve major surgery - intakes make more noise but not more power, same with exhausts..... for the difference in cost you could trade up to an S. You can tune and improv...

Re: Modifications for R55 - N16 engine

And Seth, I am in the need of replacing my rear brake pads soon, or possible the rotors as well. Been toying with the idea of getting an upgraded brake kit for all 4 wheels and just going all the way around. The front discs will be due eventually. Last time I just had to replace those pads but neve...

Re: Modifications for R55 - N16 engine

I don't know much about mods for the non-s engines. How about handling mods? You can look at springs or coil overs, sway bars and endlinks. I think you have a good look going on so I don't see much to change or update.

Re: Fixing the Audi

A few weeks ago we had planned a holiday trip to North Carolina, so I thought I'd get the car ready with a fresh oil change and a quick look over - I found two cracked and leaking outer CV boots - so I ordered the parts and made arrangements to use the shop at school as there's a lot more room to w...

Cooler literally or figuratively? And are you referring to Boston or me flying back to see the sneak preview of the Countryman? I'm going to end up doing a photoshoot of it anyway once they get an inventory so not worried there. I think it would be more fun to be in Boston than in KC. Plus, the wea...

Re: Spark plug questions

I believe the book calls for them to be changed at 60K, if you're setting codes tho.......but why are you taking your MINI to Carmax for repairs? Seems to me the MINI dealer would be a better choice, plus too and also it might be covered under the warranty. It is 60K per MINI. The price per plug at...

Re: Replacement battery for R53 (04 MCS)

That's ridiculously expensive when there's a better alternative, see posts above. I've bought about 6 batteries from Standard for all my various and sundry cars, tractors etc, never had a problem with any of them.......the price is right and they will install for free. I thought the same in regards...
